Android emulator and voice recognition

I am using Android sdk 2.2 under Windows Vista and I am trying to get microphone sound using plug on my computer. I try an example from this tutorial , but every time my application is stopped by the Android emulator.

Can I use AudioRecordwith a microphone in the emulator?
