Exiting an endless loop without interrupting the browser

Is there a way to avoid a loop like below without closing the browser, terminating its process?

WARNING . Do not run the code below. Running this code will throw your browser in an endless loop of warnings.

<html><body onload="while(true)alert('Hello')"></body></html>

In some browsers, this will not happen in the first place.

Whenever this happens to me, I do my best to quickly execute the following key sequence:

[ENTER] Ctrl+W

Which exits the loop and closes the window / tab, but should not interrupt the browser.
