How to commercialize Java software?

I wrote desktop accounting software in Java. I want to put a key or a license or other type of security to prevent client redistribution of software. I just want to know how to do this?

Short answer: DRM does not stop piracy. It only harms your paying customers. No matter what you do.

The best thing you can do is create a simple product key system, everything that really does makes your application unable to quickly copy without any work, it does not harm your payment customers, but does not expect it to stop everyone who decided not to pay for your software.

The best you can do is make your software good . This gives people the incentive to actually buy it. Also a fair pricing plan helps (there is a reason why Adobe / Microsoft software piracy heavily).
