Slider Z-Index Layering Issue Tools

Question

I have a difficult overlay situation for a website: http://andstones.ca/contact/ , where I use a large background image for content to scroll to and from.

The only problem is that a transparent image covers the content and makes the links invisible?

Any fix idea that saves the slider the same way it does now?

I think it’s best to break the #middle on the left and right sides by positioning the absolute edge coverage. the highest z-index always gets clicks, so you need to come up with a different layout.
