Possible duplicate:What are the pros and cons of saving SQL in Stored Procs versus code
What would be the appropriate scenario for using stored procedures?
I came across an implementation where almost all data manipulations were processed by the warehouse procedures, even the simplest form of INSERT / DELETE statements was wrapped and used through SP.
So what is the rationale for using stored procedures in general?
Sorry for this question for beginners.
