WPF / Silverlight performance when using intensive GPU applications

I could mix apples and oranges in this matter, since I mentioned them in the indicated areas, so please try to understand what I mean.

I read that WPF (and Silverlight, as an extension for it) uses GPU acceleration to render on the screen.

If so, what happens when I already have an application with an intensive GPU (say, playing in windowed mode), and then run the WPF / Silverlight application, which takes the GPU time / power? Who gets the highest priority? Do they both start to stutter?

Thank!

I think it would be safe to say that you will have similar problems, since a task with an intensive processor is running ... it will starve other processing time tasks. So yes, you can see reduced performance throughout, but it all depends on what is involved :).
