The Android application runs on the emulator, but not on the phone ("Unable to send DDM fragment XXXX: no handler defined")

Question

I made a very simple application to start playing with Android development.

It works fine on the emulator, but when I try to install it on my HTC Hero (v1.5), the following error appears:

Excuse me! The Simple Dial application (process com.foo.simpledial) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. (Close button)

and in the Eclipse console , I get the following message:

I put android:debuggable="true"inside the application tag in manifest.xml
