Rich text editor for JSF 2

I searched for the main WYSIWYG text editor that I can use in a JSF 2 (VDL) application, but did not find anything satisfactory .. in the sense that:

  • The editor is very extensive and not customizable (e.g. PrimeFaces)
  • Editor does not work with VDL (e.g. RichFaces)
  • Multiple instances of the editor cannot be used on the same page (e.g. Tomahawk t: htmlArea)

I really don’t need all the fantasies like fonts, indentation / justification, undo / redo ... just bold, italics, lists and hyperlinks will be enough.

Do you know something that works well in this scenario, and also produces XHTML-compatible markup, and works well with partial page updates (f: ajax), or would you recommend that I write my own?

Thank!

Just use TinyMCE. As for JSF, the input can be treated as a text field. He receives visualization on the client and receives the return text transmission with the submission of the form; what you do with it until the browser matters to JSF.

You might want to try IceFaces and this richtext editor.
