The Most Effective ASP.NET Web Control Set

Question

Personally, I have been working with Telerik RadControls and DevExpress ASP.NET controls for many years. IMHO they both produce pretty impressive HTML client side overhead, so I have never been very pleased with it.

Of course, I also know about Infragistics, ComponentOne, ComponentArt, etc. I would suggest that they are not very different from those that I spoke of.

Which (commercial) control creates the most compact client-side HTML?

I tend to think that there is no “most perfect set of controls”, but rather a combination of server-side controls and Javascript-based controls (like jQuery's user interface). Do you agree with this?

In which combinations have you achieved the best / most effective use of users?
