C ++ online role-playing game (RPG)

So, I studied C ++ and SDL to make some basic 2d games. I want to create a game like World of Warcraft, but a 2D version. I want it to be online and use a database or something to run data such as gold, HP, etc. I was wondering if I would do this in the SDL, would it work online or would the user download the SDL themselves to play?

I just want such a game, but I can play it with my friends, for informational purposes only. I also watched DirectX, because everyone has it on the windows. Anyway, a lot of help is appreciated, thanks!

However, you will need to learn how to share work between clients and a central server. This is not always trivial. Obviously, the server will have things like # gold coins. Keyboard input is received first on the client. But the direction your toon is looking? Should the server know this?
