Can multiple wordpress serve the same database?

Question

I am a template designer and I want to create one wordpress with all generic messages, but I do not want to have to register and copy and write the same Wordpress messages every time. Can I point multiple WP installations to the same database? A more complicated way would be to export master db and import it for each installation. Before I go crazy and try to hack something, does anyone have any advice? -Thanks in advance.
