StoreGeneratedPattern in Entity Structure

Question

If the warehouse model has the StoreGeneratedPattern = identity attribute set, why should the conceptual model not reflect this in some way? Either in the attribute or in the readonly mode of the property? If I need to pass a value to the link field.
