Can I run the original MS.Net Framework 4 on Linux (possibly with Win)?

I once heard that a guy was able to install the original Microsoft.Net Framework on Linux and successfully run Mono-incompatible .Net applications using advanced MS C # functions. Any idea how he could do this?

Wine runs .NET 2.0, and it has .NET 3.0, and it is not, and you are out of luck. Even then, I think they are most likely spotty. The best .NET support for Linux is Mono. Mono very well supports most of the .NET Framework, but you're still out of luck for .NET 4. http://www.mono-project.com/Compatibility

it can only be installed by a standalone installer, not by a web installer (it is better to try winetricks), and clack here for a standalone installer (absent)
