The real use of the theory of projective planes

I study the theory of the projective plane . In general, this is an extension of a plane that includes additional points that are defined as the intersection points of two parallel lines. In the projective plane, each of the two lines has an intersection point. Whether they are parallel or not. Each point in the projective plane can be represented by three numbers (you actually need less than now, but not nemeinda).

Is there any real life application that uses the projective plane? I might think that, for example, software that needs to find line intersections can benefit from always having an intersection point that can lead to simpler code, but is it really used?
