Eclipse and SVN: Missing .project file

I am working on an uni project with several other people using SVN. To my annoyance, the project file was deleted from the repository because "it contains information about a particular platform." However, this obviously violated my setup in Eclipse, giving me an error:

There were problems opening the selected resources. The project description file (.project) for '_________' is missing. This file contains important information about the project. The project will not function properly until this file is restored.

Any suggestions? Thank.
