Question

This question 1 describes how to display a list of phone numbers and select one of them if my application needs a phone number. But if I have a huge list of contacts, it’s not enough just to show the list, but you also need the ability to filter (by contact name). Is there a standard way to show a list of selectable and filterable phones? (I would not want to come up with my own)

Is there a solution to the problem for sdk 2.0 and below?

You should use ContactsContract.Contacts and then the CONTENT_FILTER_URI flag .
