Good resources / Perlin noise implementation?

Are there any good resources that detail Perlin noise generation? I understand that most languages have noise generation libraries, but I'm interested in creating my own for fun / experience. I already watched this one , which seems pretty popular, but it only gives a detailed explanation of one-dimensional noise. Until now, Google searches have been relatively useless, since most of them are focused on applications, rather than creating a generator.

Books and / or websites are welcome, even if their attention is not the generation itself, if it provides a detailed explanation of the implementation, or at least concepts related to it, so I can β€œdiscover” my own.

Well, this link here contains some decent information. There is also a Ken Perlin site . A quick Google search provides many generators and implementations in different languages.

Here is one generator that I know about the source available (scroll down to the bottom of the page).

You can also search for http://www.gamedev.net , as there are many forum posts, etc. about perlin noise generation.
