Why does CodeMirror not work on iPad?

http://marijn.haverbeke.nl/codemirror/jstest.html works on Safari on PC, but not on iPad. What a shame, since I wanted to use it for an application. My question is not only why it doesn’t work, but how should I analyze things that break on iPad Safari?

The editor in CodeMirror is actually an iframe, not a source entry. The problem I suspect is that the browser on the iPad does not know if the keyboard needs to be activated because some DOM element has key events associated with it.

he may have used an iframe in the past, but now I have a codemirror on my website and I don't see any iframes inside it.

it's almost a year later, so maybe now the situation has changed.
