I have several applications written on rubies on rails, and, like any good developer, I want to get high-quality data about my site, for example, measure the number of new user accounts per day. I'm in the process of writing my analytics tools, but I feel like I'm reinventing the wheel. Are there any plugins or gems that could help me pull this data out and quickly display it (graphs are a plus)?
If not, what types of functions would you like to use in such a tool (I will put the plugin on github if my code is good enough)?

To clarify a bit, I'm looking for business intelligence. I already use google-analytics for my site traffic and active-scaffold to get the admin page, right now my application has users who generate tickets and can create polls, I'm interested in the general trends in my application and the graphics of new and existing numbers users compared to new tickets and new polls, I can get the information I want. I like getting shared numbers, so I take all the users over the last 30 days and then repeat them to calculate how much I get per day ... then I save this for an array and plot against tickets, etc. That's right, I do this using the brew home library, which is not very efficient, and before I put time / energy into improving it, I want to make surethat I am not duplicating an existing toolbox. Or write unnecessary code.
