Parse NTFS partition in C

Question

I'm just a beginner and I need to parse an NTFS partition to retrieve security descriptors. (I tried to use the native functions of the Windows API, but I came to the conclusion that something seriously does not comply with the rules of conduct or their documentation.)

I was wondering if someone here had such a requirement, and could give me some advice, recommendations, recommendations ... where to start?

(I found www.ntfs.com seems to have information on the NTFS structure, but I'm afraid I need something else to get started ...)

I intend to use it under Windows XP.
