Boost version upgrade

I am using RHEL 5.3, comes with gcc 4.1.2 and boost 1.33. Thus, there is no boost :: unorded_map, without the make_shared () factory function to create boost :: shared_ptr and other functions available in new versions of boost.

Is there a newer version of boost compatible with the gcc version? If so, how is the update performed?

Download the latest version (1.43.0) of Boost libraries from the Boost website and follow the steps in the getting started guide that explains how to create Boost on multiple platforms, including Linux.

Of course, just download the latest source from the link text . If you use only libraries for headings only, you just need to unzip it. If you use one of several applications that require libraries, you will need to create them.
