The code can be placed on an ASPX page, which is then composed in the magic displayed by the client. There are also code files behind ASPX pages, which are .vb / .cs (Visual Basic and C #, respectively) that transfer data to ASPX pages.

My guess is the closest thing is ASP.NET, the .NET replacement for the original ASP page. Note that ASP.NET is not an exact replication of servlets.
