Android Nexus One - Trackball Light

How can I control the light of a trackball in a bunch? I found something with NotificationManager, but the samples do not work for me.

You cannot yet. Perhaps in a future update (the hardware is capable of this, my roommate has a custom ROM on his Nexus, and the trackball is bright. This is the software that blocks it).
