Monotouch Classes

Question

What does MonoTouch.Foundation.Register do? For instance:

 [MonoTouch.Foundation.Register("CalendarDayViewController")]

When do I need to add above? To recognize it .xib? Or instead of .xib?

I asked about this on the MT list and received this in response:

You only need to do this if you are trying to make the method visible for the iPhone OS for something.

I made many threads without problems without adding an attribute to the methods.
