(Free) Windows text editor with folder view?

I have to stay away from my MacBook and will be using Windows for a while. I missed the view of the Textmate folder while editing my rails projects. Is there an editor in windows with a folder view? I know that there is a text editor E. But I will save a few bucks if there is a free (cheaper) alternative, since I will not stay long in Windows ...

Go with gVim , and when editing the file you can enter :edit.to pull out the working directory and go from there. Also you get geek cred for rolling VI!
