Technically, yes, maybe. Its just a call through the protocol that the service uses. However, since you are in kernel mode, some USER mode libraries may not be available to you, so you may need to code them yourself.
For example, if the service is running on an HTTP endpoint, you can use raw sockets to access it.
How difficult it is depends on the platform on which the driver is located.
