How can a web developer learn how to design an iPhone?

I am a web developer and I envy all the cool iPhone apps. I don't know anything about C or what language they use to create iPhone apps. I really don't know where to start. What do I need to do? Should I take a class, buy a book? I am very good at programming, I am developing HTML, CSS and Javascript, as well as some PHP and Action scripts. I'm not very good at object-oriented programming, but I think I can pick it up if I use it more. I like video tutorials like lynda.com or net.tutsplus.com. I learn what is best to buy by jumping and getting my hands dirty.

I must also mention that in each chapter you jump and do practical work. In most cases, you enter the code, run it, and then look at it to understand it.
