How to get into a Chrome extension built using GWT using RPC

Question

I have an application built using GWT / Appengine / Jdo ... and I use the Google User Service for authentication.

Google Chrome extensions can use OAuth ... I really don't know and OAuth yet.

Do I need to rework GWT RPC to enable OAuth?

Is there any other way to authenticate users for Chrome extensions?
