IPad - supports garbage collector?

I know that you cannot use GC in iPhone applications, because the iPhone does not have enough resources to do this - this will kill the job.

How about an iPad. I know that they launch the iPhone OS too, does this mean that CG cannot be turned on on the iPad?

IPhoneOS does not have an option with garbage collected by Objective-C. Even the iPad and 4.0. Apple probably does not consider it important to support it.

With the incoming Xcode 4.2 (still in beta) + iOS 5, you have something almost similar to ARC .
