Httpd Process High memory usage and slow page loading

I am running wampserver on my Windows Vista machine. I have been doing this for a long time and it works great. I have completed many projects with this setting.

However, today, without me changing anything (without configuration, etc.), only the PHP code changes, I find that every time I load the pages of my site (those that have user sessions or access to the database) , load very slowly - more than 30 seconds, they use 1 or 2 seconds.

When I look at the task manager, I see that the httpd process is loaded on the page from 10mb to 30mb, 90mb, 120mb, 250mb, and then returns again.

I have tested previous php code projects and they seem to be slow too!

What's happening?

Thanks for any help on this confusion issue!

Check the following:

  • Check if your data access library to access your database has been modified / updated recently (if you use it).
  • Guess, but have you changed your antivirus / firewall (or settings) since the last time you checked these previous projects? More aggressive safety can slow down work.
  • Have you changed the version of Apache / PHP / MySQL in the WAMPSERVER menu?
  • Perhaps you can try reinstalling WAMPSERVER (do it last, and if this is not a hassle for you, because I really doubt it will help, but it can be in some really strange cases).

although not related to finding database bottlenecks, XDebug combined with browsing cachegrind (e.g. WebGrind , WinCacheGrind ) can help you find the part of your PHP code that takes longer to execute.
