Change VBox to HBox dynamically

Question

I need a weird solution. I have one requirement in which I show two components in a VBox. But when I click on the main container, I need to maximize this and display the components in the horizontal direction. I'm just wondering if I can change the VBox to HBox and vice versa dynamically using actionscript or some other way.

Use mx:Boxand dynamically set the property direction.

MXML:

<mx:Box id="box" direction="vertical"/>

AS3:

box.direction = BoxDirection.HORIZONTAL;
