Iphone development-leopard or snow leopard?

I plan to start developing my iphone, and I have an iMac with Tiger OS 10.4 planning to upgrade to Leopard 10.5.6 OS X, but I heard Apple release Snow Leopard in September, shifting the development environment to a snow leopard instead of a leopard, and Leopard 10.5.7 will no longer be used for development? Is it a good time to upgrade?

What is the OS on your Mac does not matter for iPhone development . You need to update, both now and in the future, to begin developing iPhone. Either you switch to Leopard now and start now and pay $ 29 to upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard when it comes out, or you lose significant development time waiting for Snow Leopard and save as much as $ 29. This is your call, but for me, to get your application in the application store earlier, costs a lot more than $ 29.

However, you probably want to get GM for iPhone OS 3.0, because what will come with the new phones very soon, and Apple is going to require that the new applications in the application store are compatible with 3.0.

  • Snow Leopard does not support V2x OS for iPhone (e.g. link here ). When I tried to run applications in the Snow Leopard V2.x simulator, I find the error below.
