I was told that I should use winsock, but I do not know where to start. For example, I am trying to access, say http://www.newegg.com/ , I am trying to get the textual name of only three products on the first page, Any help is appreciated .: D

I would also recommend libcurl for this kind of thing.

You can use the cURL command-line tool to generate example code, which is useful for experimentation.
