Change the page layout in the middle of a LaTeX document

I am looking for a way to change some page layout options in the middle of a LaTeX document. The reason is that I would like to have smaller fields and longer lines in the "Links" section of my document report(mainly because short lines are not that important there, and I can save some space).

In my preamble, I have (works fine):

\setlength\textwidth{130mm}
\setlength\oddsidemargin{14.6mm}

In the document, I'm just trying to rearrange them at the right point, but they are ignored.

... last paragraph ends here.

\newpage
\setlength\textwidth{150mm}      % +20mm text width
\setlength\oddsidemargin{13.6mm} % -10mm left margin (so it stays centered)

References ...

The package geometryis useful, but only for global settings in the preamble, so I can not use it here. Can't change the page layout at some point in the document?
