Multiple columns per day with full calendar

Question

I want to show a planning plan for several conference rooms, each of which is in a separate column, in the form of a full calendar day. Thus, it will look like the current full calendar of the week, but for every day.

Is there an obvious solution to this? And if not, where in the source should I start, what to look for, what to avoid? Some suggestions would be nice.

I modified the original fullcalendar to handle "resources." The goal was about the same as Emanuel described.
