Django form authentication in App Engine?

Question

Is there an easier way to use uniqueness checking with Django Forms in AppEngine?

I understand that performance will be a problem if we keep the uniqueness constraint, but since the amount of data added is very small, performance is not a big concern, rather, development time is a problem.

Any help is appreciated.
