Self-signed IIS7 certificate. Remote Certificate Invalid According to Validation Procedure

I have a website hosted on my web server that communicates with a secure web service on another server. I created my own certificate and attached it to the https: // binding. I did 2 things to try to accept the certificate on my web server:

  • Open IE and browse to my wsdl file in the web service. Installed the certificate in a trusted root certification authority.
  • I exported the certificate from another server, switched to MMC and installed it manually to import into the certificate of the trusted root certificate of the local computer.

None of them worked, and I'm not sure which route to try next.

System: Windows Server 2008 works with IIS7.

Thanks so much for your time.

I had to do it the way everyone else did, overriding certificate verification. Not what I wanted, but sorted it out at the moment.
