Reusing a calendar popup like iCalendar / scheduler on iPad? Not a date wheel

I need a date picker that shows a real calendar (similar to the built-in calendar function on the iPad.) Is there a reusable widget? How can I easily implement it? The date picker is awful because it doesn't show you the day of the week (Sun, Mon, Tue ...) and really doesn't need an iPad where you have enough space to show a calendar, which is a very convenient way to let someone pick a date (it's mentally easy to find a third Tuesday from today.)

You can see Kal , I used it for iPhone projects. You should be able to insert it into a popover.

I know this was asked some time ago, however, after finding this question and answers, I looked at Kal and yes, you can get it to work on the iPad in a popover. It takes a bit of reworking the source code, but for several hours I worked with it and worked very well.
