SharePoint-based custom websites are growing everywhere (just visit topsharepoint.com to see). With that said, my question is about creating a fully customized, branded site using SharePoint as a CMS, as shown on many topsharepoint.com sites.
I understand the concept of creating custom master master pages (SharePoint 2010 even includes a minimal .master to run). I have a problem's:
- What site template is used? In 2007, the recommended appearance-oriented website template for a website was a publishing portal. Is this still true?
- What kind of navigation do you use? Do you use OOB navigation? If so, how do you style him a lot?
- How do you keep editing on the page in the new site template?
- Are there online tutorials that cover all of these issues? I searched, but it is very rare.
