Is there such a thing as reverse CDN? (content search network)

Our customers download a huge amount of data from around the world, and we would like to do our best to make it as painless as possible. Our customers download 2 GB files for their sometimes very “retail” broadband packages (with limited download speeds), which extend the download time to 24-48 hours. At any given time, we have 10 or more simultaneous downloads and peek periods, we can have 100 simultaneous downloads. Thus, we decided to consider ways to reduce latency and maintain the local traffic of our clients ... since the CDN has download servers in different places, we would like to load the servers.

Any experience or thoughts?

We are not a huge company, but this is a problem that should be solved, so we will consider all the options.

How about some servers being physically closer to your clients? The same provider, or at least in the same countries. Then you just collect it on a schedule. I do not think that they get the maximum speed when 100 of them are loaded to you, so the sooner you can get them, the better.

Also, do they need to download this material immediately? Can some of them place a DVD for something that is not time sensitive? I know this is crazy about the media at the post .... so this is hardly ideal.
