Transparent flag with theme support?

I am looking for a simple transparent checkbox element that correctly supports XP / Vista / 7 themes.

It should also work with Delphi 7.

I found a Torry component that does not work correctly, and I know that Raize components have a transparent check box, but I obviously won’t pay $ 300 for the whole package to get this single component.

I also found many other solutions, but none of them support them.

The main problem is that TCustomCheckBox is a descendant of TWinControl, and in order to implement transparency, you need to make new control over the TGraphic stream from scratch.

Any ideas?
