Will the VB6 application work with wiaaut.dll in Windows Vista or 7?

I downloaded the Windows Acuisition Automation Layer sdk boot disk, distributed from Windows, and the VB6 application that I wrote to capture still images from DSLR, a Wia-compatible camera works fine in Windows XP.

Will the same application work in Windows Vista or 7? Microsoft says: "The Windows v2.0 image capture automation library is only supported on Windows XP with Service Pack 1 installed." But will the API work on the new OS? I really don't want to rewrite all this in C ++ ...

Is there any other option available to me if I want to continue using VB6 but want to support newer OS?
