SQL Server Compact - how to check an encrypted SDF file?

Is there a way to check if the SDF file is encrypted before calling SqlCeConnection.Open ()? Or are you just trying to open it without a password and catch a specific error - perhaps SSCE_M_INVALIDSRCPASSWORD?
