Silverlight P2P application (in browser). Will we get RTMFP?

Well, that’s why of all my research I’m quite positive. P2P is not possible in Silverlight 4 (in the browser).

Flash can perform P2P using Stratus / RTMFP, which I assume uses UDP hole punching and a Stratus server to help initialize the connection.

Are there any plans of Microsoft in the future to add some kind of p2p rendezvous service? Can we get a final yes / no on whether p2p is possible in SL4.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for (since I'm late to the party for this older question), but CodePlex has a P2P library - although it looks like this library has a dependency on Window Live Messenger.

Assuming your Silverlight 4 application does not have to be cross-platform for Mac, you can access the Winsock API either directly or through some kind of COM wrapper.

No, you cannot get the final answer about future Silverlight features on StackOverflow.

If you are interested in this feature being implemented, I suggest you vote by opening Connect Issue and vote for the Problem with UserVoice .
