Game Development VB6

I am developing a game on VB6 (please do not ask me why :)).
The storyboard is ready, and there is a rough implementation.

I follow the "purely software rendering" approach. (i.e. no DirectX, no openGL, etc.)

Among many others, the following “serious” problems exist :

  • 2D alpha transparency required. implement overlays.

  • Implement parallax to create the illusion of depth of field.

  • Capture mouse scroll events around the world (as in FPS; display them to change weapons).

  • Asynchronous sound reproduction with absolute “almost zero delay”.

Any ideas anyone. Please offer any well-documented / ocx library or sample code .
Plz offers solutions with good performance and minimal overhead.

In addition, anyone who has developed any games
and would be open to sharing her / his code would be highly appreciated.
(Any recognized VB games whose source code I can study ??)

UPDATE: Here is a screenshot of the GearHead Garage . This picture should describe what I tried with the words above ... :)

VB6 is interpreted, deprecated, and I would be surprised if it works on Windows 7.

I think you need to seriously review the methodology here.

For sound reproduction, I used http://www.fmod.org/ in the past. This and other libraries, such as BASS , are available for non-commercial use only. I also suggest avoiding the built-in multimedia playback object.
