What is the single most convincing reason to upgrade to Spring 3 from 2.x

Currently working on a Spring 2.5 web application, it looks like the business has at least a 5-year plan for using it.

There is nothing in terms of the technological roadmap for the application.

Spring 2.5.6 is stable and runs smoothly. Staying with him will not be a mistake.

Spring 3 provides additional features and supports the new JavaEE specifications. I would not say that it gives something extraordinary.

Spring Roo generates spring 3-based applications. Not immediately applicable to existing applications, but it's great that you can compare the results of the roo best practices, and if you were 3.x-based, you can copy the roo configuration / code output to an existing application to get functionality for free.
