Is it possible to hide the image path on an asp.net page without an HTTP handler?

Question

I have many static images under a directory in my site structure and I am not interested in hotlinking or copy protection. For many reasons, I need not to show the image path on the site (or show a fake one).

Is there a way to do this without resorting to an http handler or asp.net work page?
