Is there a central place where I can find specifications for most Android phones available on the market? I want to create avds for each of them.

The Android SDK v6 tools adds sdk add-ons to the emulator via the avd manager instead of the old way ... an unexpected release with Android-OS 2.2 sdk in the next 4-6 weeks.
