Using ZeroC Middleware

I am currently looking at various middleware solutions that will allow me to create applications in different languages that can communicate with each other.

The ZeroC product suite is ideal because it provides an agnostic way to identify data and services that work with data (through its IDL) and provides support for all major languages. It also offers many other things we would like, such as load balancing, grid computing, and managed deployment.

However, my google-fu let me down, and it's hard for me to find information from people who used it to implement the system. I am looking for feedback on projects that use it, and what problems / successes they had. I'm also interested in feedback from projects that rated it and decided not to use it (and why).

I would suggest that this is what is for the ZeroC forum project section, although it does look a bit rare.
