Im on the verge of starting the development of the RIA. We have been using Flex / Flash for the past 2 years, but we have been considering the possibility of using a more OS-based approach, which is why we, although we have provided JavaFX, since it holds together the only reliable option. However, after a couple of days of research, it turned out that for him there is no such thing as a datagrid, at least not in the base API. For those new to Flex, Datagrid is a component that allows you to display a collection of data in a column layout (like an HTML table on steroids). The beauty is that you only need to worry about the data itself, as the component does pretty much the rest (sorting, dragging and dropping columns, etc.).
I'm afraid to ask ... but is there something similar to JavaFX?
We do not require anything like Flex Datagrids / AdvancedDatagrids, we need a simple and easy way to display data grids that can have little interaction, such as clicking, sorting and the ability to display images, buttons, etc. without having to load a ton of different cans.
If there isn’t something there ... It would be a shot in the back of the head so that the idea of javaFx would be able to compete with the flash in our project (which is sad).
I really can't believe that the SUN people haven't included something like this in the main API ...
